2018 SCHOOL DAYS AT THE STARR COUNTY FAIR
HONORING FIRST RESPONDERS

Starr County Fair Officials would like to invite your campus to come out and enjoy our 15th Annual School Days at
the Starr County Fair. The fee is $2.00 per student and will grant entry to the grounds, petting zoo, all exhibits and
livestock shows, as well as live entertainment at the stage.

Should the children wish to feed the animals in the petting zoo, they can purchase a cup of feed for an additional
fee of $1.00. The petting zoo will also offer pony rides to the younger children. There will be local dance teams,
cheerleading squads and bands performing at the pavilion throughout the day, as well as the Texas Game
Warden’s Exhibit and monitored Bouncy Castles available for the children to enjoy.

Once the official schedule of events has been published it will be forwarded to each campus so that your teachers
can plan their day.

Your students may enjoy a sack lunch picnic brought from your campus, or they may help themselves to one of a
number of food booths selling fajitas, hamburgers, sausage on a stick and turkey legs to list just a few. Food
vendors generally offer a School Days discounted meal-deal.

Due to the number of elementary schools in Starr County, space is limited. Grade levels and number of students
attending will be at your discretion. You will be able to choose from one of the following time slots and the spaces
will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. We can accommodate approximately 2,000 children per shift.

Thursday, March 1st:  AM Shift – 9:00 – 11:30   –   PM Shift – 12:00 – 2:30
Friday, March 2nd:  AM Shift – 9:00 – 11:30   –   PM Shift – 12:00 – 2:30

If you would prefer that your campus stay on the grounds for both shifts please let us know, and we will do our
best to accommodate you.
