Douglas and Jeannie Anderson are being honored as Parade Marshals for the 2022 Starr County Fair Parade.

Doug grew up attending and helping with the Starr County Fair, and he and Jeannie have been volunteering with the Fair since they moved here in 2003, when they began volunteering with the youth scrambles. He is currently the president of the Fair since 2016 and chairs the Carnival, Parking, and Traffic Committees. He also serves as needed on all other committees.

Jeannie chairs the Academic Rodeo, website, and Add-On Committees, as well as serving on the Media Publicity, Parade, and Daytime Entertainment Committees. She also coordinates the Starr County Fair Website and coordinates School Days at the Fair. They are both members of the Board of Directors of the SCFA.

They are active in the community and are active members of St. John United Methodist Church. They stated, “We feel so honored and humbled to have been selected as the Parade Marshals. Doug states, “It’s not about us, it’s for the youth of Starr County. There is no greater blessing than to invest in kids!”
